Stories by Groups

Four people created each picture -- one drew the head and then folded down the paper; one drew the body, one drew the legs, and one drew the feet. Similarly, four people wrote each story, each person writing only a few lines.

Rhodedendrums and Connor's Puppet Show

"I got this idea because I wanted to do the puppet show at King Street Youth Center, and it's really fun to make puppet shows. The only character in my show is called Rhodedendrums, it's like she loves singing, she sings one song-- the ABCs, and a little of Patty Cake. She's a movie star and she has an mp3 player, she went down under her basement so that she won't get caught by the paparazzi, and she's kind of dumb. I had 100% fun on it! It was really really fun."

Puppet mania continues, just when you thought it was safe to eat lunch again...

For next week, we plan on creating some new puppets in the afternoon as well as building up and decorating our new stage. We will also start practicing some shows with our new puppets and thinking of ideas for stories or adventures. Some of which may (with luck) involve Mr. Winking Cow.

Puppets, puppets, puppets!

On Friday, Tim and Jeff made more puppets with the afterschoolers. Here's one of the shows they produced. There were some truly fantastic puppets made, including Shayleen's "perfect puppet," Dylan's hungry puppet, and Eric's alien monster puppet (who was visiting us from Neptune and eating our cows). Below is a super puppet who can "beat anyone up." Watch out!

Here are some photographs of the puppets that the kids created:
