It Might be March, But . . .

We all have camp on the brain! Just last week, I was working with youth on the computers (practicing math facts for Math March, but more on that in another post), and I overheard an older afterschooler telling a younger afterschooler about camp: how amazing it is, how much she'll love it, the new friends she'll make. Months and months after her one week at Camp Hochelaga, this girl was able to recall details with absolute clarity - that's how much of an effect it had on her.

So, of course, I immediately got out the flip video camera and starting interviewing kids about camp:

King Street youth are able to attend Camps Hochelaga and Abnaki thanks to a lot of hard work on the part of Nancy Zahnizer regarding organizing, generous donations from the community, and important partnerships with Camp Hochelaga and Camp Abnaki. The weeks that our youth spend at Hochelaga and Abnaki are magical, empowering, and life-changing, and we are so thankful that our youth are able to go.
